Research Interest: Aortic aneurysm surgery. Dr. Lansman has organized The Aortic Symposium series, an internationally recognized forum for aortic surgery.

Dr. Lansman is a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the New York Society for Thoracic Surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

While heart transplantation, assist devices, surgery for heart failure, and aortic aneurysm surgery remain Dr. Lansman’s special interests, coronary bypass surgery, aortic valve, and mitral valve surgery comprise most of his caseload; in these areas, his interests include minimally invasive approaches, OPCAB, and particularly, mitral valve repair procedures.

Previously, he served as interim chief for SUNY Brooklyn, the Brooklyn VA Hospital, and Kings County Hospital. He then joined the staff at Mount Sinai Hospital to begin its heart transplant program.
