Nitin Sekhri, MD has joined Westchester Medical Center.  Dr. Sekhri was appointed to the medical staff of on January 8th, 2014 and will serve as its new Medical Director of Pain Management.  Dr. Sekhri is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.  A local New Yorker, Dr. Sekhri  earned his Chemical Engineering degree from Manhattan College before attending Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at Columbia University Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.  He went on to complete his Fellowship in Pain Medicine at Columbia and was recognized as a Virginia Apgar Research Scholar.  After fellowship, Dr. Sekhri joined the Departments of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical center, where he specialized in both inpatient and outpatient pain management, with a focus on interventional procedures for cancer pain.  Through a variety of innovative techniques and treatment modalities, as well as a strong patient focus and a collaborative practice approach, Dr. Sekhri helped transform the Englewood program into one of the premier pain management programs in the region.

Dr. Sekhri now joins Maureen Cooney, DNP, NP; the anchor of the Pain Management Program for the past twelve years, Drs. Reginald Rousseau and Raju Mantena of North American Partners in Anesthesia and Dr. Gary Tatz, a specialist in Pediatric Pain Management.  Together, they will expand the scope of services and offer comprehensive, compassionate, multidisciplinary care for all patients in need; understanding that early evaluation and intervention will minimize the development of chronic, disabling pain.

The team aims to form an individualized and comprehensive plan for optimal pain treatment, allowing every patient to return to an optimal level of function in his or her work and personal life.  They will be collaborating with colleagues in the Anesthesiology department, for seamless post-operative pain management, and the department of Radiology, to provide innovative pain management interventions such as kyphoplasty and neurolytic blocks.
